The Best Horror Movies and Series on Netflix

I am not really a fan of horror movies because I’m afraid of ghosts. But, there are  exceptional days when I have enough courage to watch scary films and enjoy the thrill it gives to my senses. Once I started a series or a movie, even though, I get super scared in the middle I will make sure to finish it. Then, I will just sleep with my room lights turned on while I cover myself with a blanket. Haha!

Timely, it’s the Halloween season so I guess this is the best moment to share the movies and series that I’m currently binge-watching. To those of you who don’t have spooky parties to attend and play dress up to, I have a list of the best horror movies and series on Netflix that you can watch with your family and friends so prepare your popcorn, sit back, relax, and get ready to binge-watch.

But before that, let me share with you the sweet treat my Netflix #StreamTeam family sent me to welcome Halloween… How I wish we were in the Philippines when these arrived as I badly wanted to munch the Boss Baby cupcake…

The Best Horror Movies and Series on Netflix

The Haunting of Hill House

First on my list is The Haunting of Hill House. For thrill-seekers, you’ll surely love the modern reimagining of Shirley Jackson’s legendary novel. This is a story of a family of 7 who lived in the Hill House which happened to be the most famous haunted house in America. Paranormal activities and tragedies immediately started when they set foot in the house. They left the house when their mother started to act strange and committed suicide. To be honest, I’m having goosebumps while typing so I’d rather stop here. Make sure you have one full day free because once you start streaming, it’s hard to stop as you’ll be hooked with the story.

The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

Half human and half-witch, Sabrina Spellman, navigates between two worlds – mortal teen life and her family’s legacy, the Church of Night. I was invited at Sabrina’s 16th birthday aka The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’s launch here in the Philippines where we get to watch the first episode. I’ll be sharing more about what went down on a separate post.

Premiere: October 26, 2018

A Witches’ Ball

Keisha loved watching this. She streamed this movie while we’re on-board the plane en route to Seoul. This is a story of a young girl named Beatrix who can’t wait to be inducted as witch. However, an unfortunate incident threatens her pending title if she doesn’t act fast.

Director: Justin G. Dyck
Watch Time: 1h and 31 min
for ages 5 and up

Creeped Out

Here’s another series to watch for kids… Creeped Out is tagged as this generation’s Are You Afraid of the Dark?. It’s a horror series for a much younger audience perfect for kids like my daughter’s age. A masked figure known as “The Curious” collects tales of dark magic. Each episode is a different story set in a different place and time. Parents will also be hooked on this one once you start one episode.

Episode: 13
for ages 7 and up

That’s all for now guys as my hands are somehow numb because of the cold temperature here in Seoul. Will definitely be back to regular programming once I reach home.

Happy streaming and happy Halloween!!!
