Grand Flores De Mayo And Mother’s Day Celebration At Sta. Lucia East Grand Mall

This blog post is somehow long overdue since it’s already June. But, still, I want to share to my dear readers this momentous event not only to Keisha’s life but to mine as well.

I previously posted Keisha’s Little Stars journey from the SCREENING up to the ELIMINATION round. This is the third part of my 5 posts regarding her first ever kiddie pageant.

Mother's Day Celebration in Sta. Lucia East Mall

Last May 12, the Little Stars semi-finalists had their Grand Flores De Mayo in Sta. Lucia Mall. Flores De Mayo or “Flowers of May” is a Catholic and Aglipayan festival held in the month of May to honor the Blessed Virgin Mary. Cute and charming little girls and boys paraded wearing their best gowns and barongs in all floors of the mall. Touring the whole mall including Sta. Lucia’s old buildings were quite tiring most especially for the little kids but to my surprise, I didn’t see any sign of tiredness in Keisha’s eyes. She had full energy and was totally amazed with the people staring, smiling and taking her photos. She waived and smiled to almost everyone like a real and grown-up beauty queen.

Here are some of the photos:

Here’s Keisha’s video when she ramped on stage:

Alongside with the Grand Flores De Mayo was the mall’s celebration of Mother’s Day. The organizers prepared a special tribute to the dashing mothers of the Little Stars semi-finalists. We were individually called-up on stage where our kids handed us a full-bloomed and long-stemmed red rose. On top of it, were their sweet mother’s day messages for all of us.

Here’s our video:

Oh, yes, I loved that 1-minute moment of spotlight! Just kidding! =)

The experience was truly worth-remembering since it’s something new for Keisha and I.  I guess not only for us but to our whole family as well who were all present to cheer and celebrate with us. In my next post, I’ll reveal the special award that Keisha received. =)

It’s one of the ways to boost a child’s self-confidence later in life. 🙂
