Hi-5 Philippines Media Launch
“With Hi-5 Philippines, we are very excited to bring the world-class edutainment experience closer to more Filipino kids. This is our way of not only showcasing world-class Filipino talent, but more importantly, helping shape our country’s future generations,” said Noel Lorenzana, TV5 president and CEO.
“We are proud to partner with Hi-5 World in introducing to millions of Filipino kids a local version of this highly interactive edutainment show. We are up to the challenge of producing the show that is at par with global standards,” said Jane Basas, Media 5 Corporation president.
Just a little background, Hi-5 was launched in Australia in 1999 and rapidly grew in popularity over the years. It has won the following awards:
- three Logie Awards for Most Outstanding Children’s Program
- five ARIA Awards for Best Children’s Album
- five Australian DVD and Video Industry Awards
It was then that Hi-5 started expanding its reach by franchising the show across North America, Europe, Australasia, Latin America, and Asia.
Hi-5 Philippines started their first ever live show with the famous Hi-5 theme song.
Kids and even some of the moms and dads present including myself, sang and danced with the Hi-5’s songs – Some Kind of Wonderful, The Dancing Bus, Underwater Discovery, and my personal favorite L.O.V.E. Aside from the song and dance numbers, there was also a preview of what’s in store for the kids when they watch the show this Monday. There will be short skits where Filipino values will be highlighted and showcased in a fun and imaginative way targeting kids’ developmental growth.
The show culminated with Hi-5 theme song’s Filipino version. The little girl in yellow with long black hair is my daughter. You can see how happy she was in the video.
And, we’re in for some autograph signing and photo-op with the Hi-5 Philippines and with Hi-5 Australia, Fely Irvine.
Hi-5 Philippines definitely makes me proud to be a Filipino as this is the first time that the Hi-5 franchise assembled an entirely new cast for the localization of the show in Asia. Hi-5 Philippines is currently one of the only two casts for Hi-5, the other one being the Australian cast.
I uploaded this photo on my Instagram page @kayefig and was surprised to see the lovely comments of the cast towards my little girl. Thank you Hi-5! =)Keisha with Hi-5 Philippines cast, Fred, Aira, Rissey, Alex and Gerard
