Last September 24, 2015, I went to Real Living Space, the ultimate shopping and design show house event at the Avida Towers Centera showroom in Mandaluyong City where I had the opportunity to see upfront five styled spaces by different designers.
Real Living’s Editor-in-Chief Rachelle Medina and Associate Publisher Tom Castañeda joined Avida Land’s Head of Corporate Marketing Tess Tatco as they welcomed members of the architecture and design community and members of the media at the exclusive RL Space launch.
“Avida and Real Living share the same objective of helping Filipinos achieve their dream home. Who better to partner with in this pursuit than the Philippines’ best-selling home magazine and the ultimate consultant when it comes to home design?” says Tess Tatco.
11 of the best burgeoning and veteran designers, architects and stylists in Metro Manila created five inspired and beautiful spaces at Avida Towers Centera’s showroom making this years event the biggest Real Living Space to date. Each designer had a living space and a client profile that they worked with to craft their space.
The designers who participated this year are the following:
- Misty Floro and Pai Edles of modern-edgy firm Morfosis Design
- Pam Tan who is known for her bohemian and travel-influenced designs
- Kat Villanueva, owner and manager of First Scope Interior Design + Trading
- Kristine Neri-Magturo, co-owner of furniture shop Urban Abode
- John Viglia formerly of Budji Layug + Royal Pineda design
- Paul Baes and Joel Salazar of Lucina Home
- Vera Villarosa, designer if the work space in the function room from the Real Living Space 2014 at magnolia Residences
- Allen Oblena, who is known for his mix of classical-and-vinatge-mix designs; and
- Camille Besinga, an editor and a stylist
The designers and stylists were specifically selected for their unique interior looks that differed from one another. This way, they could show readers and potential homeowners that they could personalize their condo spaces in myriad, creative ways.
Aside form style inspirations showcased, guests also had the chance to shop for the products featured in the spaces, as well as purchase the represented brands, through exclusive discounts offered by this year’s partners and sponsors. Aside from this, guests were able to attend a mini-trade fair to meet with representatives from brands like Yale, Boysen, Kuysen, and, American Standard as well as shop for home and craft products. Additionally, Real Living also hosted enlightening DIY and home improvement workshops to teach attendees about everything from color and paint trends and how to mix and match fabrics to distressing wood and the basics of calligraphy.
Real Living Space 2015 was presented by Avida Land, HardieFlex by JamesHardie, Boysen Paints and American Standard and sponsored by Fujidenzo, Kuysen, La Germania, Match Contract Furniture, MAV Furniture, Uratex, Wilcon Depot, Whirlpool and Yale with HGTV, their official TV partner.
