Pizza and pasta are comfort food that most people enjoy. But if you are craving for an authentic Italian dining experience, then La Vita Ristorante Italiano is a good place to start. As a restaurant owned by the Vikings Group you can expect no less than elegant interiors and superb food. I got invited to try the La Vita dining experience with my husband and my daughter Keisha and here is what I have to say about it.
We were greeted with a display of cheese and deli which are all imported from Italy. According to Chef Maurizio Gibillini most of their ingredients are sourced from Italy except for fresh seafood and vegetables. This is because he is very meticulous when it comes to the quality and freshness of his ingredients. With this in mind, we all scanned the menu and took our time in picking out the dishes that we want to try. There is no shortage in the variety of pizza and pasta dishes in their menu to fit whatever mood you’re in.
Our first pick is the “My Way” Salad (P230) which is Chef Gibillini’s way of doing the Caesar salad. Aside from the usual greens found in a classic Caesar salad, “My Way” also has anchovies, fresh dill and caviar. It also comes with its own home-made mayonnaise dressing.
When it comes to pizza, La Vita Ristorante Italiano only serves freshly made brick oven pizza. They make their dough fresh every single day and baked on a wood fuelled brick oven. The Pizza 4 Formaggi (P440.00) made use of a cream sauce topped with mozzarella, gorgonzola, cacio cavallo, and fresh parmesan cheese.
For those who can’t go without rice there is also a selection of Risotto dishes to choose from. In our case, we picked the Risotto con Porcini (P460). It’s basically Italian rice with dry porcini and parmigiano cheese.
Aside from pizza, the La Vita pasta is also a must try simply because they’re authentic. We got the Linguini Allatavolara (P400), a mix of linguine with shrimps, garlic, chili, crab paste, and extra virgin olive oil.
Another dish that we enjoyed is the Bracciole Di Agnello Alla Griglia (P990). The imported grilled lambchops marinated with herbs and smoked paprika is neatly arranged on a plate served with mashed potato and buttered vegetables.
For dessert we got the Pannacotta con Mielle al profumo di Tortufo (P280) one of the most popular Italian desserts. I like the combination of sweetened gelled cream and raspberries drizzled with honey.
We enjoyed all the dishes that we picked including the Watermelon Juice (P100) for refreshment. The ingredients were indeed fresh and well-chosen which makes it easy to simply love them. Another thing that we enjoyed is the ambiance in the restaurant. The interiors are sleek and subtly elegant thereby giving it classy vibe with a homey feel. La Vita Podium is indeed a good place to go for those who want some fresh and authentic Italian eats. They’ve got great food, nice interiors, good service and a very amiable chef committed to delivering the best Italian dishes to his diners.
