Keisha’s First Kiddie Pageant Award

Keisha received her first ever kiddie pageant award last May 12, 2013 in Sta. Lucia Mall’s Grand Flores De Mayo. There were three special awards given that day namely, Darling of the Crowd, Best in Gown and Best in Sagala. Honestly, I was not expecting that Keisha will receive an award  since there were 18 girls competing for the three categories. Luckily, her name was called and she won the “Darling of the Crowd”. Oh, yes, she’s our family’s  little darling but to be awarded as the Darling of the Crowd during the Santacruzan was a great and humbling recognition and experience for Keisha.

When her name was called, she went up on stage (see how attentive she was) and there she was given a pink sash, bouquet of flowers in assorted colors and an envelope with cash and Sta. Lucia gift certificate. The little girl was extremely happy knowing she won an award. I’m actually surprised, how she perceives the essence of being a winner. Are kids really like this, nowadays?
