I have always wanted to book a hotel reservation for a family staycation at one of the most premium hotels in Manila, Solaire Resort and Casino. With the good reviews I read and heard since the first day it opened, I can’t help but be more enthusiastic to personally experience the exceptional service they offer and indulge in the comfortable and luxurious rooms they have. And now, here’s another reason why I should bring my little family here, Solaire recently opened its newest wing – the Sky Tower.
Solaire Resort and Casino’s Sky Tower is a spacious and deluxe leisure complex encompassing new facilities for living in, gaming, dining and entertainment. It consists of 312 all-suite hotel, additional VIP gaming areas, an exclusive Chinese restaurant ans whisky bar for VIP gamers, state-of-the-art meeting rooms, and a lyric theater.
I was fortunate to be part of the group of media and bloggers invited for a special walk-through of the Sky Tower, a day before it was opened to the public. Lunch was served at the Waterside Restobar, one of the two restaurants of Sky Tower. Waterside Restobar sources the best local products, which are transformed into Latin American and Mediterranean delicacies.
We were served with delectable tapas like Chorizo, Burritos, Sardanillas, Bruschetta and Jabugo.
There’s also sweet corn baked in husk called Humita, Asparagus -lemon and goat milk and Crushed scruffed carbonara potatoes.
From the grill we had twice cooked, poached and charred Beef Brisket and Jumbo Prawns that I loved too bits.
Valenciana was served individually . It’s a classic saffron spiced paella with chicken, prawns and pimento. As for the dessert, we had Chocolate Tart in raspberry jelly and Pineapple ravioli, chili and sorbet. We had a delightful dining experience with the delish serving of food not to mention the elegant interiors and the distinct laid-back ambience.
After the delectable gastronomic treat at the Waterside Restobar, we started the media walk-through with Solaire’s amiable staff. As I mentioned earlier, Solaire’s Sky Tower features two restaurants, the Waterside Restobar and the Oasis Garden Cafe.
The Oasis Garden Cafe is set against a relaxing garden setting overlooking two waterfalls where one can have leisurely breakfast, a quick business lunch or simply cocktails under the stars.
From morning until early evening, Oasis Garden Cafe offers a wide selection of coffee, tea, traditional snacks, and artisanal finger sandwiches. By sundown, the vibe turns into that of a stylish lounge that offers a full complement of cocktails and drinks served with the usual Solaire panache. Pastries, cakes and other sweets are offered at a price that won’t hurt the pocket.
We passed in a hallway with different versions of Mona Lisa were exhibited.
