One of the most challenging back to school tasks that moms go through every year is shopping for footwear. This is especially true if your child has a particular taste in fashion thus making it harder to find school shoes that meet both you and your child’s criteria. The child’s criteria usually focus on the aesthetic and comfort aspects. As for me, I always consider four things whenever I shop for Keisha’s school shoes.
First, it has to be comfortable. Comfort is always a primary consideration whenever your kid is “at work”. Since she’ll be wearing it for almost 8 hours a day, it has to be really comfortable. The last thing you want is for your child to have sore feet or aching muscles while at school. I go for school shoes with cushion as much as possible. This is because I want her footwear to be soft on her feet and she won’t easily feel tired wearing it.
Second, it should be non-slip. Because of course, her safety is a priority. Kids love to run around and play with friends so sometimes accidents happen. But, this can somehow be prevented when they wear a non-slip shoes with good grip.
Third, it has to be easy to wear. Weekday mornings are always a rush when you have kids getting ready for school. As such, you don’t want to waste precious minutes of your morning rush trying to put on your child’s school shoes. Slip-on school shoes are great for older kids but for younger ones who still require straps, Mary Janes or shoes with single Velcro straps are great alternatives.
Lastly, it has to be affordable. Kids’ feet grow up fast so a pair of comfortable shoes that’s affordable is the best. It is simply not practical to buy shoes that costs thousands of pesos if your child will outgrow them after a couple of months or a year at most.
Even if I find school shoes that meet my criteria, it still has to meet Keisha’s style requirements before we make the final purchase. Your child should also feel good about wearing their school shoes and not feel awkward about it. This will add to their confidence while performing tasks in school.

Easy Soft has been our family’s go-to black shoes for school and work! It has been 3 years when my 2 daughters started wearing them. When my elementary daughter was in gr.4, she is now in gr.6 still wears Easy Soft. Her Ate when she was in gr.10 til gr.12 uses it too, probably now she is in college she will still wear one specially during rainy season. I want to win kasi pag back to school i have in mind buying items na tipid at sulit for the whole school year. We were at NBs Glorietta and last minute to shop Easy Soft but to my dismay walang stock gaano lalo na sizes ng eldest ko at daughter but one of these days sana makapasyal ako sa mga world balance nearby. I’ve read so much bout this brand. Yang kayang ma withstand ang ang ulan, napakaganda na nyan for us moms kasi kasi sure tayo na magtatagal eto. I remember i bought shoes nitong summer vacation for my daughter na gamitin sa Jollibee summer camp, affordable yes and it looks durable yet it only lasted an hour? My daughter is so active and naputol yung bakal na parang strap ni shoes and there’s no way to replace it. Just a waste of money. It’s not about the price actually, may mga pricey din ako nabili before kay eldest pero mabilis nasira. I might say that I am a very thrifty mom. I agree with you, Mommy K. There are lots of things to be considered talaga in looking for the perfect fit and quality of shoes. Like for me, the first and foremost factors that I consider in buying shoes for our children esp for school shoes are: (1) comfort, (2) its durability (quality) and of course (3) the price. Why? Simply because:
1. A pair of COMFY shoes may give a child the feeling of security and safety wherever he goes to esp at school. This is, for me, the most important thing to consider. Ang sapatos kasi parang bahay lang din yan, dapat maayos at komportable ka para mas madali kang makakilos at makapagpatuloy sa araw-araw. Ikanga, dapat feel at home ka. This is for them to also feel home at school for better understanding and learning, too.
2. The QUALITY covers its efficiency and at the same time its effectivity while in use over time. The durability and flexibility is what we need. Kaya mas okay talaga ‘pag dekalidad ang mga binibiling sapatos para mas long-lasting which means hindi bili nang bili ng bago, in short, mas nakakatipid! And rain or shine, tuloy pa rin ang lakad dahil just like these #EasySoft waterproof shoes, you don’t have to worry about getting your socks and feet wet anymore! 3. And lastly, the PRICE. I would love to win these gift certificates because my eldest daughter is still using her last year’s school shoes. Honestly, I purchased her a new pair of shoes recently with a different brand thinking that it has a great quality too as what Easy Soft provides. However, it didn’t even last for two months. Good thing that her pair of Easy Soft shoes is still in great condition and I just need to clean it.
