Meralco Virtual Engine (MoVE) App For Better Bill Management

Hello there moms and dads! Here is the answer to our monthly quest of guessing or estimating rather, our electricity consumption daily, weekly and monthly. While it’s  a fact that we enjoy staying in our air-conditioned rooms most of the time watching our favorite movies or socializing through the use of laptop or any other electronic device, we can’t deny that we somehow fear the amount charged on our electric bill. Sometimes, we are shocked with our consumption that we tend to strictly lessen the use of almost all our appliances.

To help consumers track their electric usage, Meralco launched its MeralcO Virtual Engine (MoVE) app in a dinner they hosted at the Lighthouse of Meralco Building in Ortigas, Pasig City. The MoVE app is an iOS and Android-friendly application that you can download for FREE on your smartphones and tablets via the App Store and Google Play that allows consumers to have more power over their monthly electric bill.

The event was hosted by the comedienne/blogger, Ms. Giselle Sanchez. There were also fortune tellers, gypsies and a live band that serenaded us while we had our sumptuous dinner.

MeralcO Virtual Engine (MoVE) App

One of the key features of the MoVE app is that it allows users to compute their power consumption based on their appliances cost per hour and length of use per day and week.

Key Features of the MoVE app:

1.      Usage – tracks your electrical consumption in real time, by adding your appliances and switch them on and off in the app as you would use them at home.

2.      Calculator – lets you forecast the electrical consumption when buying an appliance or simply know how much an appliance costs to operate.

3.      Directory – easily find the Meralco branch or Bayad Center nearest you.

4.      Information – notifications on power interruptions, scheduled maintenance or Meralco events.

5.      Bright Ideas – helpful tips for your home on how to conserve electricity

Lots of power saving tips when you press the plus sign.

6.      E-Bill – delivers your Meralco bill online for convenience

To help promote the launch of the MoVE app, Meralco introduced horoscope videos starring comedienne Giselle Sanchez. She plays Madame Giselle, a fortune teller who identifies the electricity-wasting bad habits of each Zodiac sign and gives advice on how the MoVE app can help them. And, to help us fully grasp the concept of this app and how it fully works, we were all called in front to participate and to answer case scenarios using the MoVE app. I felt like we were in a serious game show where we had to do our best to win the prize. Though, I didn’t win in the game and wasn’t fortunate to be handpicked in the raffle, the night was indeed fun and very exciting.
