Three Reasons to Watch The Adam Project at Netflix

A lot of things have been taken away from us in the past two years and that includes watching movies in theaters. Although we have yet to wait for movie watching to normalize again there is no shortage of great movies that the whole family can enjoy. The most recent one we have seen is The Adam Project. This sci-fi movie premiered at Netflix last March 11 and its something that I wouldn’t mind watching again. Here is a quick look at the movie along with the reasons why you should check it out too.

The Adam Project is a sci-fi adventure movie that involves time travel. It narrates the journey of a time-travelling pilot, Adam, who had to work with his younger self and his father to save the future. Ryan Reynolds plays the role of Adam with Walker Schobel as his younger self and Mark Ruffalo as his late father. Jennifer Garner, Catherine Keener, and Zoe Zaldana completes the stellar cast of the film. The film is directed by Shawn Levy and written by Jonathan Tropper, T.S. Nowlin, Jennifer Flackett, and Mark Levin. It is also interesting to know that Ryan Reynolds is also a producer in the film along with David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger, and Shawn Levy.

3 Things I Like About it.

Plot. Just like most time travel movies, The Adam Project involves travelling to the past to save the future and encountering mishaps during the course of the mission. In this film time travel pilot Adam Reed crash landed in 2022 instead of his target time line 2018. He then had to enlist the help of his younger self and his late dad not just to save the future but also to come to terms with his past. What I like about the plot of this movie is that it is able to put familial relationship at its core and balance with the sci-fi visuals or effects and jargon.

Cast. The stellar cast in this film have proven their worth in the roster of sci-fi movies that they’ve done already.  They will not disappoint  you in this film as each of them has their own flavor to add in performing their roles. Reynolds for one is a natural in the role of wise cracking man bent on saving the future. Ruffalo and Garner also delivered a great performance as mom and dad  which added to my enjoyment of the film.

Screenplay. The mix of sci-fi and comedy in the film is really entertaining which makes it a great film for the family to enjoy. It’s witty, funny, and dynamic. I also appreciated the visuals and gadgets used in the film.

Overall I could say that The Adam Project is film that’s good for the heart. The time-travel adventure gets your heart pumping, the sentimental touch of familial relationship in the plot tugs at your heart, and the comedy aspect provides laughter therapy that brings joy to the heart.  In the end it’s the nice plot, stellar cast, and great screenplay that makes this film worth watching.
